How Does CPC Motivate Your Student to Perform on the SAT or ACT?

Motivation is the key first step in SAT Prep
Any good Test Prep program requires intensive, consistent work. We believe ACT/SAT lessons delivered before the student is internally motivated are next to useless.
Motivating the student – At CPC, our initial sessions are designed to show the student why they should want to study for the test.  We take the time upfront to understand what they want out of life, what qualities they are looking for in a college and then draft a suggested school dream list based on research and experience.  Before any lesson is revealed, job 1 is to provide the “kindling” that will lead each student to the initial and sustained motivation to put in the time.
Experienced Instructors – Dr. Larry Patterson “Dr. P”, believes that every student can be successful in math and has been a CPC tutor and SAT instructor since the business opened in 2000.  He has worked in education since 1966 and has developed a Test Prep Math program to help students increase their math scores.  His greatest motivation is to help students recognize their potential in math and enjoy it.
Mrs. Karen McLaughlin’s approach to English Test Prep is to create a dynamic, rigorous learning environment built on mutual respect, the achievement for all, and plain old fun.  She brings over ten years of experience teaching teenagers reading comprehension, writing, and grammar.
Mrs. Betsy Greaney is the technology support behind the scenes, working with each student to ensure their customized digital tools help them leverage learning so that they can hit the ground running with their instructor and watch themselves get better with each test they take.
Flexible Scheduling – One size never fits all, particularly when it comes to scheduling.  Students are in control and determine their combination of 10 total math/English small group sessions.
